This is a great 17 year old blended malt named for Nikka's founder, the whisky-pilgrim Masataka Taketsuru.

It starts with a nose of tropical fruit, which moves on to a palate accompanied by vanilla, cacao, and rich oak. Nikka has every reason to be proud of the Taketsuru 17 year old; at the World Whiskies Awards it has taken home the award for the ‘Best Blended Malt Whisky’ quite a few times.
